INTERCULTURAL EDUCATION AT THE CROSSROADS

Erzsébet Csereklye is an assistant professor at the Eötvös University in Budapest, where she earned her PhD with a thesis exploring teachers’ attitudes towards social diversity. Her research focuses on the conceptualization of intercultural and multicultural education and how praxis interprets an re-structures theoretical approaches to social diversity.
Erzsébet has been involved in several research and development projects with educational institutions, focusing on developing interculturally conscious educational practices. She has been teaching courses on multiculturalism, comparative education, intercultural practices in education, popular culture and education and social diversity in education. She has been a visiting student at the University of Tapere, Finland, University of Tartu Estonia, University of Vienna, Austria. She has been teaching and doing research at Rutgers University, USA, Miskolc University, Hungary, Pavlodar University Kazakhstan and is currently a visiting teaching fellow at the Karl-Franzens University, Graz, Austria.
